It turns out that just two weeks after he completed that project and expressed this thought, he got to be the Honorary Ball Boy at yesterday’s Twin’s game. It wasn’t bat boy, but he did get to go onto the field at Target Stadium and place the first ball on the pitcher’s mound before the game started. It was an honor I am sure he won’t soon forget and an experience he will be able to tell his kids about someday!

Ball Kid
Colin just had an assignment at the end of the school year to do an author studies project. He picked Mike Lupica, who writes sports themed comeback novels for kids. Colin had to read two of his works, one of which was Bat Boy. Bat Boy is a novel about a young baseball player who is the bat boy for the Yankees and a darn good baseball player himself. Colin expressed after reading this novel how cool he thought it would be to have a job working with Major League Baseball players. I had to agree with him, I mean what kid doesn’t dream of standing in the dugout during a major league baseball game, even for a couple of minutes?
It turns out that just two weeks after he completed that project and expressed this thought, he got to be the Honorary Ball Boy at yesterday’s Twin’s game. It wasn’t bat boy, but he did get to go onto the field at Target Stadium and place the first ball on the pitcher’s mound before the game started.
