Recently we watched Mary Poppins as a family. I have loved this movie ever since I was a kid and wanted the kids to enjoy it too.
We sat down to watch, with grumbles from the boys about how this must be some sort of girl movie. But, everyone liked it thanks to Dick Van Dyke's silly jokes and Julie Andrews beautiful voice.
The next day, this was our conversation about the movie.
M: Mom, how does Mary Muffins fly?
Z: It's Mary Puffins, not Muffins
R: It's Poppins and magic is how she flies
Z: No it's Puffins, I am pretty sure.
M: How do you say that word?
R: Which word? Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?
M: Right, super-calli-fragile-istic-makes-me-kinda-nauseous
Can you imagine this movie? Mary Puffins, the pengin from California who sings about having the spins has to be careful in her fragile state while she flies around using "magic."
