The Girl Who Cries Wolf

For weeks (every since her best friend lost a tooth), Molly has been talking about how she has a wiggly tooth.  We always show excitement for this milestone and try to wiggle the stationary tooth.  Tonight at dinner she was complaining that she couldn't eat because her tooth hurt SO much.  Again, I feign the sympathy I think must be necessary for the faux loose tooth and tell her to start with eating some applesauce.  As dinner progresses, so do her whines of pain.  Even her brothers are starting to loose patience with her drama.  So it was rather funny when the conversation went like this:

Molly:  Oh, I have a wiggly tooth
Colin:  I thought your tooth had been wiggling for weeks.
Molly:  No, this one is ACTUALLY wiggly.  See...

Sure enough, after being forced to put my finger in her mouth and wiggle the tooth, she has her first "really" wiggly tooth.  She isn't crying wolf this time around! She was so excited that she had to show the dog, dad, her brothers (twice), and the neighbor this monumental first loose tooth.  And, she hasn't stopped wiggling it since she discovered her tooth is "really" wiggly.  Looks like I need to take a trip to the bank to get some silver dollars...and have that conversation with Zach (again) about letting the magic live for the little ones.
