It seems we have those periods of time where illness just sticks around. This January has been one of those periods. It started before Christmas, really. Colin got sick, then Zach who almost missed Christmas, then me and Todd. My cold lasted so long that I got a sinus infection and find myself finally on the mend, but dealing with the side effects of antibiotics. Molly came down with the nasty cold now and is on day two of being home with a fever and a cough. We have three days until a new month...I hope that February has a theme other than illness!
All this illness has kept me from keeping up on everything. The days all is well, I run around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get stuff done. The boys are in the middle of their very busy time at school. They have their Night of the Notables assignment to work on, a science fair to prepare for, their research papers, and their regular school work. Next week we attend the meeting to prepare Colin for Middle School registration...MIDDLE SCHOOL! Not to mention we have a very important golden birthday next week to prepare for. Needless to say, I lack a lot of focus right now.
With so much chaos in our lives right now with illness and school work, I find myself celebrating the little accomplishments like:
1. Colin is doing great in math with very little help from me to stay organized.
2. No one has missed the bus in 2013.
3. Minus one incident, I have remembered to feed my children every meal every day.
4. Both boys have cooked dinner for the family this month.
5. We allowed Colin a sleepover with three friends and survived...actually it was fun.
6. Molly is reading more every day and is learning to love Beverly Cleary books, just like her mom.
7. Got Zach challenge packets in math class so he is less bored.
8. I haven't forgotten any major events.
9. We are almost always on time.
10. I am cooking more at home and have made things for my family that are "different" and they liked them.
