Why is it that January feels so January-ish?
Lots of snow, lots of cold, no time outside, sick, and too much time together? We are all a little tired of these 4 walls and the piles of snow.
Molly asks me every day now (in addition to how many days until her birthday...which is now 6!), how many days until the snow will be gone? I keep telling her I have no idea. The beauty of this state is that we can still have snow in May.
We booked a trip to visit Todd's parents in Arizona for spring break. We are going to Grandparent Camp instead of Disney World or Mexico, like the rest of our school district. It doesn't really matter where we are going, as long as it is a few days out of the snow and cold. Hopefully the trip will provide some Vitamin D and a few days of R&R for all of us.
In the meantime, we have been trying to enjoy the beauty of winter, when we are healthy enough to do so! Emmie is the one who enjoys the snow the most!
Her game of toss the tennis ball, dig for the tennis ball, and prance around with the tennis ball seems to never get old. Which is good, because with the cold and Todd's travel, it is the only exercise she gets some days!
This past weekend was not kind to us. We have 4 of the 5 down and out with illness. Poor Colin got a stomach virus that has left him unable to eat for the past 48 hours. Zach was home Friday with a cold that even affected his eyes. Molly has a horrible sore throat and a bit of a cough. I have a cough that sounds is if my lungs are dislodging. Todd gets to be the glue that keeps it together. I am sure his time will come this week...it is just a question of which type of illness and when! Let's hope it is before SuperBowl Sunday so he can enjoy his Packer's in full glory.
Today is it...last day of January. Here is to hoping for a shaddowless Groundhog's day, an end to the snow, and some temperatures above 30 degrees sometime soon!
