Hard to keep up...

As a mom these days, I try so hard to keep up on all the technology so my kids don’t leave me too far in the dust.  I have an iPhone and a Facebook account; I text instead of call; I blog; and I download and share photos. There is plenty I don’t have the time or the energy to figure out, but now Pinterest has been added to the list of communities you have to be apart of.  Pinterest is an online bulletin board for all things anyone might find interesting on the Internet.  Just when I was starting to embrace my slacker mom self and feel like it was ok to underachieve on things, I join Pinterst to be reminded of how much other people do with their kids (or at least dream of doing)!

Well, the other day I was stewing in sadness about all the big milestone birthdays we have coming up this year...a five, a ten and a forty!  The pressure is mounting to make the milestones something special.  I want to do something unique, but I don't have the time or the energy (and dare I even say skill) to pull that off.  So, I sit on Pinterest and try to figure out how other more organized people mark these milestones.  When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but an idea that I can totally pull off!

Molly turns five in just one week; so, the idea had to be easy enough to complete in a couple of hours.  It also needs to be inexpensive because once you start something; you need to keep it going for all your children!  This idea had me interview Molly on her favorite things.  Then I take those answers and put them with recent photos of her.  A little Photoshop pizzazz and it becomes something special!
