The Golden Birthday of my little one has come and gone. To her it was all golden and magical. She felt special for many days in a row as we all celebrated her wonderful life and the gift that she is to all of us. She received her hearts desire in a new iTouch, a trip to Build-A-Bear with her best BFFs, and the promises of shopping and a newly decorated room.
Despite a little cold, the festivities were filled with her charming smile and gracious presence. They began with her waking to a door decorated in gold. Her doorframe held a cascade of gold and pink streamers for her to enter into the world of six year olds in style. Downstairs she found the above pictured giant golden six balloon waiting for her with the golden star sign hanging above it to wish her a happy birthday. She enjoyed a donut off of our special birthday plate after she blew out the golden six birthday candle following a beautiful rendition of "Happy Birthday" sung by her favorite people in the world. She was then showered in presents and cards before she jetted off to school for her field trip to the theater. After school, she was sung to again by her choir friends after she enjoyed a delicious dinner of pizza from our church kitchen. Then another two days at school proceeded her three birthday parties. Each party included a special cake...Dairy Queen Ice Cream, Target Heart Cupcakes and a chocolate cake decorated with golden stars and golden frosting. She was able to eat all her favorite foods, including Mac and Cheese and pizza. She was able dress in finery, including sparkly shirts, jeggings, boots and homemade scarves.
At the end of it all, she fell into bed exhausted but happy, exclaiming that maybe she would be too tired to attend school on Monday. After all, cough...cough...she might even more sick than she thought. When reminded that the week ahead included the 100th Day of School and Valentine's Parties, she decided that maybe a night of rest would be all she needed to recover from her birthday extravaganza.
Happy Sixth Birthday Molly! I am glad you enjoyed yourself.
ready to face her first day as a six year old after being sung to by her cousins!
