A friend

This past week with our house on the market, we had to eat out a lot.  One night we found ourselves at the local Leann Chin eating Chinese food.  Molly opened her fortune cookie which read "You will soon find a stranger becomes a friend."  I sort of felt bad for her that she got one of those "bad" fortune cookies.  No success or riches in her future.

The next night we found ourselves at the park for a couple of hours.  A mom with two kids parked her minivan alongside ours and went to the baseball field with her son to practice hitting.  The little girl stayed on the playground to play.  She immediately joined playing with my three.  One thing lead to another and the kids found out that this family attended the same school my kids attend.  They introduced themselves, found out what teachers everyone had and promised to see each other at school the next day.

Not long after this family left, Molly came to me and whispered..."My fortune came true!  Can you believe it?  My fortune came true."
