My job.

It has been brought to my attention that my daughter will be attending kindergarten next year.  It seems once this realization is made known that it is time to ask the stay-at-home mom if she will go "back" to work.  As if what I have been doing has not been work.  (really I am not one of those moms looking for validation on my choice...I get the phrase and its intent)  So I have started to really ponder that question...do I?  Or don't I?

Molly turned to me the other day and said...
"Mom, I don't want you to get a job.  I like having you here.  I like doing things with you and playing with you.  I want you to be here next year when I get home from Westwood because I will miss you when I am gone all day and I will want to spend time with you.  You know what?  While we are at school all day, you can get all your cleaning and stuff done and then you can spend all your time playing with us when we get home.  It will be great and I don't want you to mess that up by work.  But if you do want to get a job then...I know...you could get a job watching bird nests.  That job wouldn't take so long so you could be home when I get home from Westwood and we can play.  You should totally get a job watching bird nests and then come home when I am home.  That would work, right?"

Anyone hiring in the bird nest watching business?  Because how in the world could I say no to that little girl's logic?
